Dr. Dennis Lyons

Dr. Dennis H. Lyons, O.D., FAAO, a native of Philadelphia, received his B.A. from Temple University and his license from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Lyons has also served as a clinical investigator for a variety of contact lenses and solutions

Community Service

In private practice since 1973, Dr. Lyons has served as President and Secretary/Treasurer of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry. He has also been director of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and Vice-President of the Monmouth/Ocean County Optometric Association. Dr. Lyons has been instrumental in establishing scholarships for PCO students through the New Jersey AOA and the creation of the Class of 1973 Memorial Scholarship. He also helped his community by serving as Chief Optometrist for the Ocean County Board of Health Optometric Clinic from 1978 to 2004.

Past Achievements

In 2007, he was awarded the "Distinguished Service" award from the New Jersey Society of Optometrist Physicians. Dr. Lyons was chosen as the PCO Alumnus of the Year for 2008.

Sue has been our office manager since 1978 and has achieved numerous awards for her leadership in the paraoptometric field. In 2003 she was awarded the national paraoptometric of the year for her service to optometry. Sue has served on the AOA Paraopteometric Section board as its national chair.
